Frank Dicksee

Sir Francis Bernard Dicksee (1853-1928) was a painter and illustrator, the son of Thomas Francis Dicksee. He appears to be stylistically linked to the Pre-Raphaelites.

 Chivalry (1885)

 Paolo and Francesca

Portrait of the Hon. Mrs Ernest Guinness (1912)

 Romeo and Juliet

 The Duet

The Two Crowns
[in case it's not clear, this is an allegory of the contrast between earthly and
spiritual power; one crown is of gold, worn by the king on horseback,
and one is of thorns, worn by the Christ in the statue at right]
